Steffen Weck is a principal in the consulting firm of Food Business Consulting, a full service concept-through-commercialization resource based in Kansas City, which he founded in 1990. He works with consumer food product companies developing new products, improving existing products, and determining new areas for growth. Steffen has led the development and commercialization of numerous successful Retail, Food Service and In-Store branded and private label product introductions for many of the top 50 Food manufacturers in the US and Canada. Weck has more than 20 years of experience in the Food Industry, in both Research and Development and Operations Management with consumer product companies holding management positions with Sara Lee, Vicorp and Einstein Brothers Bagels (a Boston Market concept). His responsibilities have included P&L accountability, strategic planning, business development, new product / process development, acquisition analysis, category assessments and competitive analyses and financial analysis. This experience includes virtually all channels of distribution including grocery, foodservice, retail/in-store bakeries, warehouse clubs, drug/mass merchandisers, and convenience stores. Before entering the consulting profession, Steffen spent more than three years as Director of Operations for Einstein Brother's Bagels.
